Hello, I am James
I work as a project manager. I am a parent, and I am an expat living in New York, United States.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually opened a new chapter of my life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn't in the long-term plan. As with many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far more substantial.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more tangled than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning by doing. But slowly, routines formed. We discovered places that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Prairie Garden Echo
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in United States.
What This Site Represents (And What It Does Not)
This site is:
- Real-world experience from living in United States
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there are meaningful changes
This site is not:
- A resource for tourism authorities
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- An ordinary travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in United States continues, as does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in New York or anywhere within United States, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
James
